How membership works

Every step from your application to your first event, in the order it happens. Nothing on this list comes as a surprise later.

Apply for Membership

CARNALIFE is members only, and every member is vetted the same way. The process takes about a week for most people. Most of that time is people doing careful work, not a queue.

Six steps, in order

1. Apply

Create your account, tell us about yourself, name a reference who will vouch for you, and agree to the code of conduct and consent policy. Nothing you write is public.

2. Verify your identity

A government ID and a live selfie, checked by a payment grade identity service. It takes a few minutes and confirms you are 18 or older. Your application status page shows where it stands.

3. Your reference

We send your reference a neutral confirmation request. What you tell them about CARNALIFE is up to you. If a current member referred you, they can vouch for you instead.

4. Vetting by a real person

A reviewer checks public records, talks with you in a short interview, and reads your application. If something comes up, we tell you privately and you can respond before anyone decides.

5. Approval and dues

If you are approved, you choose a membership term and pay dues. Your access begins once they are paid. Couples apply as two people, are approved together, and can join on a couple rate.

6. Your first event

Browse upcoming events and reserve your place. Sign the event waiver where one is required, and some events ask for a recent health verification. At the door, you check in with the QR code on your phone.

Once you are a member, one membership opens everything: curated events, a private community with messages, forums and a member directory, Carnal Lifestyle writing, and aftercare support after an event. Your profile shows only what you choose to show, and you can hide from the directory entirely.

Before you apply

How long does it take?

Most applications get a decision within a week. Identity verification takes minutes. The records check, the reference, the interview and the review are what take the time, and we do not rush any of them.

What if I am not approved?

We tell you privately, by email. Nobody else is told, and we never confirm or deny anyone's application to anybody.

Do couples apply together?

Each partner applies, verifies their own identity, and names the other. We review you together and approve you together.

Who sees my application?

The reviewers who need it to make a decision, and nobody else. Nothing you write is shared outside the review.

Can I help out at events?

Yes, once you are a member. Everybody who works a CARNALIFE night is vetted first, so apply for membership, and then offer to help from Get involved in the member area.
